A quick training update:
Over the last 2.5 weeks or so I’ve been doing mostly low-end SST riding. Started with the Dover 19, moved to the dover 28. Wed I added a few extra miles. Dover 33 next week.
I’ve been systematically bumping up my KJ output while maintaining similar power. So I was doing 1300 kj’s or so 3 weeks or so. Wednesday of this week I did 1950.
Legs are responding well, brain is relaxed and diet is on point. I’m eating well (ie: a lot), but doing 6500-8000 kj’s worth of riding every week (and some weight lifting for upper body/core) so the weight is coming off slowly, but steadily. 193 this morning. I’d like 187 by Christmas. Very plausible with the 10000 kj weeks to come. As endurance base/fitness climbs I expect to be able to do this output pretty easily.
For example, a mid november training week may look like this:
m- 2.5 hours @ 83% AP (90′ or so @ 88%)
t- recovery+ weights
w- same as monday
th- recovery+weights (or 2.5 hours endurance riding)
f- off OR same as monday (depending on thursday)
Sa- 3 hours, mixed paces. 2500+ kjs
su-off OR more enduro pace.
So, lots of hours, but very little work over 90% of LTP.
Lots of energy burned and a nice BASE beginning.
Of course, if at any point I dont feel like riding, I WONT RIDE!!
It’s the off season and burnout aint my goal.
I’m taking it week by week and treating weight loss as one of my prime objectives. It’s fun and sh!t, I aint got nothing else to do!!
until next time,
-L
