During stage 3 of the Green Mountain Stage Race, our very own Jason W was involved in a crash just shortly after cresting Brandon Gap. He is currently doing well in his hospital bed, but he wanted me to post a quick blog to give a special thanks to:
- The man that first arrived to help him who gave him his jacket and put something comfortable under his head until help arrived (can’t remember his name).
- The Branford Medics.
- The ambulance EMT’s.
- The Emergency staff at the Rutherford Regional Hospital.
- And last, but definitely not least, the Surgery Team at Rutherford Regional Hospital.
The end result as far as injuries go were a number of broken ribs and a punctured lung. Here’s hoping for a speedy recovery, Jason.

Also, a special thanks to my girlfriend Rebecca “Becca” who has been by my side at the hospital taking care of me and most importantly putting up with me.
We’re all glad to hear you’re doing OK. Get well soon!!!
Best wishes from the Rochester, New York cycling community!
