Race Recap: Shedd Park CX 2008: Belgian Peanut Butter

Given that we had dinner plans Saturday night with 3 Belgians, and that the clouds and rain rolled in as soon as one of them landed on Friday, I should have known what was waiting for me in Lowell…Belgian peanut butter. Based on the smell of it, it was NOT organic. Hub deep, each side thronged with fans chanting “ride the mud!”, it was impossible to not try…at least on the first lap. But, I tried (and failed) every lap. Wicked smaaht! Either way, it was AWESOME! I had a crummy start, but chased back to finish 9th in a two up srint with a nice gentleman from BRC (the host club, who put on an amazing race). I’ll be back next year!

I found that I could ride it only when yelling braveheart-battle-scene-style. Not sure why. Then again by your race it was like 6 inches deeper!
